What you will do 

Responsible for supporting the current manufacturing and facilitating the continuous improvement processes associated with the manufacturing methods and processes in the plant facility.  Also develops solutions for production problems related to materials, processes, and tooling. Supports new products and programs by developing new processes, designing tooling and machinery, and developing production controls. Responsible for set-up of new equipment, ensures proper operation of the new equipment, and to teach others the proper use of this equipment. Accountable for applying sound economic methods to equipment and space utilization to meet design and quality criteria with the lowest expense and consistent with the facilities financial and non-financial objectives. 

 

How you will do it 

  • Reviews specifications and bid proposals and cost estimate requests to establish the feasibility of accepting orders.  Determines manufacturability, investment requirements, product cost and delivery schedules. 

  • Develops processes, methods, tooling, and production controls and KPI for new and existing products and programs; supervises their assembly and proofing. 

  • Supports production to resolve any manufacturing issues. 

  • Coordinates new product development-launch(BOM scrubbing, Manufacturing Trial Lots, Assist in Training and work with Design Engineering on production issues related to Design for Manufacturing ), work on cost reduction activities. 

  • Processing Engineering Changes  

  • Manages capital equipment planning and procurement activities. 

  • Maintains, operates, and troubleshoots manufacturing support software. 

  • Plans, justifies and implements facility changes to produce the forecasted volume of product economically. 

  • Participates in and leads Kaizen events. 

  • Responsible for Labor Routings, MS, Capacity Planning, TPM, and Cost Estimating. 

  • Responsible for Capital justification, CNC/Programming, Tool Design and Selection. 

  • Responsible for reporting work related injuries and near misses to supervision. 

  • Responsible for wearing all required PPE and following applicable safety/environmental rules. 

  • Responsible for correcting or reporting unsafe conditions observed within the plant. 

 

What we look for 

  • University degree and 1 year suggested minimum experience, or 2 year degree and 6 years suggested minimum experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • 3 years of Manufacturing Industry experience, Fabrication environment preferred 

  • Previous experience with new products and process introductions along with a working knowledge of lean manufacturing practices and procedures is also required.  

  • Relevant engineering experience supporting manufacturing to improve methods and processes. Proficient knowledge of efficient troubleshooting methods. 

  • Demonstrated track record of solving problems quickly & efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and ability to learn new skills quickly. 

  • New equipment development and capital execution 

  • Must possess excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. 

  • Proficiency with MS Office – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook 

  • CAD Experience  

 

Preferred  

  • PFMEA’s, DFAM 

  • CAPEX experience

  • New product introductions/launches 

  • Braze experience 

  • Factory 4.0 / Smart Factory 

  • Six Sigma/Lean certification and/or experience 

  • AutoCAD/CREO  

  • SAP 

  • BOM/Routing Development
