Overview

The Structural Engineer will draft and analyze temporary work designs for assigned construction projects to ensure constructability with contract documents, specifications and regulatory requirements.

What you will be doing
    Provides technical input on temporary works construction designs to ensure constructability and compliance to project contract specifications.
  • Drafts design plans for temporary works (falsework, shoring, temporary bridges, formwork, slopes, etc.), ensuring completeness and accuracy with regulatory standards and within the contract specifications.
  • Designs temporary construction elements ensuring ease of constructability, cost effectiveness with materials onsite or purchased, balancing between optimization and feasibility of onsite project construction.
  • Submits designs for peer review or approval review in an accurate and timely manner to avoid construction delays on the project site. Senior engineer or manager to seal designs following approval review.
  • Support published corporate policies.
  • Perform additional assignments per management's direction.
What we are looking for
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering with emphasis in Structural Engineering or Geotechnical Engineering required
  • 2+ years of engineering experience required; or 0+ years of experience with a Masters Degree
  • Experience in construction engineering preferred
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) preferred
  • Professional Engineer License preferred
  • Experience using AutoCAD, Mathcad, Bluebeam required
  • Experience using SAP2000 (Structural) or DeepEX (Geotechnical) preferred
  • Experience with Revit is a plus

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Knowledge and skill in technical writing for clear and efficient communication and understanding.
  • Knowledge and understanding of constructability and construction practices.
  • Ability to multi-task and self-prioritize work.
  • Verbal, written and interpersonal skills required.
