Aon is looking for a Sr. Broker, Middle Market

As part of an industry-leading team, you will help empower results for our clients by delivering innovative and effective solutions supporting commercial risk. As a Broker, you will report directly to the Middle Market Practice Leader. This role is located in Chicago, IL.

Your impact as a Middle Market Broker

The Broker is responsible for managing a portfolio of middle market accounts, including the placement and service, and ensuring client deliverables are maintained. This individual is accountable for acting as the representative for the local office or region on new business and renewal opportunities.

The individual leads by example as a strong sponsor of Aon's Leadership Model; supporting local colleagues; promoting and ensuring connectivity, partnership, and collaboration within local office practices, and functions, and encouraging the sharing of knowledge, standard methodologies, and resources around our Property and Casualty accounts.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Perform the services of an Insurance Broker for Property, Casualty, Worker's Compensation, Commercial Auto, Umbrella, Excess, and Foreign Package policies.
  • Advise and complete the placement of new and renewal P&C programs including crafting submissions.
  • Execute placements within required timeframes and servicing those placements including their renewals.
  • Analyze and review insurance programs for clients to determine the optimum program including pricing, terms, and conditions for both new and renewal business.
  • Help with the development of new and innovative solutions for the Middle Market clients/industry
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with the carriers and underwriters.
  • Mentor and help develop associate brokers on the team.
  • Work as a team member and collaborate with other colleagues within the Aon team.
  • Knowledge of Benchmarking and Loss Analysis.
Skills and experience that will lead to success
  • 5-10 years of relevant insurance P&C business experience
  • Proven knowledge of Casualty both Guaranteed Cost and Loss Sensitive, (Workers Compensation, Commercial Auto, General Liability, Umbrella/Excess) and Property coverages.
  • Strong understanding of Middle Market P&C risks and carrier appetites.
  • Broad relationships with the carriers that write Middle Market P&C business.
  • Outstanding Microsoft Suite and presentation skills.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of proven experience.

The salary range for this position (intended for U.S. applicants) is $135,000 to $145,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on the applicant's education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on the applicant's geographic location.
