Job Posting Title: Manager, Export Compliance
Time Type: Full Time

The position is responsible for managing DSV's internal controls as they relate to the U.S. Government regulations controlling exports, primarily the Foreign Trade Regulations, Export Administration Regulations and the International Traffic in Arms Regulations.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Monitor branch execution of export regulatory processes, company standards and AES data quality.
  • Analyze and interpret U.S. Export Control Laws and regulations.
  • Drive compliance with all export regulations throughout DSV branches.
  • Develop, maintain and amend policies, processes and export regulatory training to minimize risk in the area of export compliance.
  • Establish systems and process controls to minimize risk, including establishing, communicating and analyzing export compliance KPIs.
  • Serve as escalation point and advisor to branches on issues or questions that arise outside of the standard processes.
  • Conduct risk assessments and internal audits of branches.
  • Coordinate and draft responses to export penalty notices.
  • Manage restricted party screening, including evaluating matches.
  • Monitor regulatory changes and adjust procedures accordingly.
  • Distribute regulatory alerts as needed and contribute to internal and external newsletters.
  • Incorporate compliance requirements into operational procedures as appropriate.
  • Partner with IT to ensure that internal systems meet regulatory and AES requirements.
  • Partner with company trainers to ensure that regulatory elements of operational systems are properly and effectively presented to operations staff.
  • Participate in export compliance training seminars and conferences.
  • Assist in export compliance portion of customer implementations.
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures and guidelines, such as the Code of Conduct, assigned work schedule and attendance requirements.

Educational background / Work experience

  • Bachelor's degree in business, law, or a related field is required.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in export controls in the transportation and logistics industry.
  • Knowledge of and experience with U.S. Export Regulations and the AES Trade Interface Requirements (AESTIR).
  • Experience working with the CBP Automated Commercial Environment (ACE).
  • Good understanding of exporter and forwarder responsibilities in the export transactions.
  • Working understanding of export documentation and transportation methods.
  • Strong knowledge of applicable regulations, such as customs compliance, trade compliance, anti-bribery, and data privacy.
  • Experience in developing and implementing compliance programs and policies.
  • Proven track record of managing compliance-related audits and investigations.

  • In-depth understanding of transportation and logistics industry regulations.
  • Strong knowledge of compliance frameworks and best practices.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong leadership and project management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to collaborate and influence at all levels of the organization.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Familiarity with risk assessment and mitigation techniques.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and reporting.

  • Supervisory responsibilities, leading a team of compliance professionals and oversight of any direct report(s) activities.
  • Managing personnel and conflict resolution

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certification in compliance or a related field (e.g., Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional, Certified Export Specialist).
  • Experience working with compliance governance and regulations.
  • Experience implementing compliance programs in a global organization.
  • Familiarity with compliance management software and tools.
  • Knowledge of industry-specific regulations, such as FTR, EAR, and ITAR.

Language skills

  • Fluent in English (oral and written)

Computer Literacy

  • Proficient in using compliance management software and tools.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
  • Familiarity with data analysis and reporting tools.
  • Ability to adapt to new technology platforms used in compliance management.

For this position, the expected base pay is:$86,500-$129,500/ Annual.Actual base compensation will be determined based on various factors including job-related knowledge, geographical location, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations.
