What You'll Do
  • Able to operate machinery (Manual Lathe, Milling Machine, Drill Press, Key Seater, surface grinder, CNC machines)
  • Operate machine tools such as lathes, grinders or special purpose machines to accurately contour and turn rolls to close tolerances
  • Ability to troubleshoot work related problems using job knowledge, experience, and by communicating with others
  • Understand start up, shutdown, and emergency procedures
  • Ensure equipment inspection reports are filled out each shift
  • Perform minor/routine maintenance or repairs as needed to equipment without the assistance of maintenance personnel
  • Responsible for daily housekeeping duties including but not limited to immediate work area
  • Open work orders, navigate, read and print documents out of QMOS. Adjust course of stand build ups based on QMOS information and scheduling
  • Effectively communicate with others about possible production issues, concerns, and needs
  • Participate in the CMC Safety Programs and proactively uphold the CMC Safety Culture
What You'll Need
  • Understand machinery and basic math to be able to program CNC machines
  • Basic knowledge of the rolling process preferred
  • Ability to work as a team player in a fast paced environment, with strong work ethic, pay attention to detail and find root causes for issues
  • Ability to work with exposure to extreme temperatures, chemicals, dust fumes and mists, uneven surfaces, loud noise, elevated work areas, and confined spaces
  • Basic computer skills
  • Demonstrates dependability in attendance, work completion, and flexibility to meet business needs
  • Ability to learn quickly and multitask required
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds, climb ladders and steps, work outside under all weather conditions
  • Work on rotating shifts with some overtime required
Your Education
  • High School Diploma or GED required
