Responsibilities

We seek a creative and talented Manager, Corporate Communications, to join our New York Blood Center Enterprises (NYBCe) team. The Manager of Corporate Communications will report to the Vice President of Corporate Communications. The Manager of Corporate Communications has a highly collaborative role requiring successful interaction with executive leadership, human resources, business and marketing leads, IT, external partners such as NYBCe's marketing and communications agencies, and various print and design vendors.

Your primary responsibilities will involve building strong relationships and collaborating with Corporate Communications team members, NYBCe leadership, and division leads to create content that aligns and supports the organization's communication strategy, brand and reputation, and strategic imperatives. You will write and manage communications across various channels that effectively describe and promote the organization, its products, services, and people.

Internal Communications:

    Write and edit communications, including employee emails, memos, speeches/scripts, organizational announcements, slide presentations, and copywriting for various communications platforms (e.g., newsletters, Pulse, websites, annual community reports, and customer communications).
  • Work collaboratively across the organization to create content and an editorial plan for employee communications channels, including our employee portal/intranet and newsletter, that aligns with the organization's messaging and strategic goals.
  • As a priority for Corporate Communications, help oversee and ensure consistency in deploying corporate branding at the parent and division levels.
  • Collaborate with marketing teams and various content owners to ensure ongoing alignment between internal and external messaging channels, including messaging and corporate brand elements.
  • Maintain NYBCe source documents, boilerplate, corporate overview decks, and other shared assets.
  • Help develop and manage the strategy, roadmap, and budget for enhancement initiatives for the NYBCe employee portal/intranet and other internal communications channels.
  • Support Corporate Communications Leadership in developing and implementing special projects (e.g., NYBCe 60th Anniversary and the Rye Campus Project).

Project Management:

  • Manage daily activities, requests, and projects to meet deadlines, including time management, contingency planning, approval channels and procedures, follow-up, budgeting, reporting/analysis, and tracking/monitoring procedures.
  • Collaborate with internal clients and partners to establish project scope, strategy, and plan.
  • Support the organization and management of communications assets to streamline accessibility for various projects.
Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, marketing, or related field.

Experience:

  • 5+ years of demonstrated work experience in related field.

Any combination of education, training and experience equivalent to the requirements listed above has supplied the necessary knowledge, skills, and experience to perform the essential functions of the job.

For applicants who will perform this position in New York City or Westchester County, the proposed annual salary is $115,000.00 p/yr. to $125,000.00 p/yr. For applicants who will perform this position outside of New York City or Westchester County, salary will reflect local market rates and be commensurate with the applicant's skills, job-related knowledge, and experience.
