Job Summary

Spectrum Brands is looking to recruit a creative, super-organized and commercially-minded Associate Brand Manager to be part of the team in Fairfield NJ that manages and develops our PowerXL brand globally, and the BLACK+DECKER home appliance brand in the Americas. You will work within a team of Brand Managers, primarily responsible for the production of branded creative assets (e.g. photography and video) to support our annual brand marketing and product launch plans. You will be involved in managing our brand identities, brand positioning, development and implementation of campaigns. You will work collaboratively with our regional and local marketing teams around the world and the Global Central Marketing team. Primary Duties & Responsibilities
  • Support the Senior Brand Manager and Brand Manager to develop strategic and tactical global and Americas marketing plans to drive long term sales and profit growth for the brands
  • Own the Brand Guidelines, acting as a Brand Guardian and champion within the business
  • Work with the Senior Brand Manager, Brand Manager, Internal Creative & Content teams and external creative agencies to develop and deliver centralized marketing materials for the brands:
    • Support the planning and project management of photo and film shoots for:
      • advertising campaigns
      • branded video content, including engaging videos for social media, 'How to' videos and product technology animations
      • product and lifestyle photography
    • Management of model usage rights
    • Product copy with clear consumer messages
    • Catalogue/Trade/ Sales support aids
    • PR tool kits
    • Manage video and asset translations
  • Work closely within the central Brand & Product Marketing team and other Global Central marketing functions to ensure all campaigns are fully integrated
  • Analyze competitor communication activity each quarter and provide summary, insights and recommendations
  • Build close relationships with regional and local country marketing teams, providing guidance and support on all aspects of the brand as required
  • Work closely with Product Marketing Managers on development of NPD positioning, product propositions and marketing claims to build strong sell in stories for the trade
Education and Experience Profile
  • Educated to Bachelor's degree level (or beyond) in Marketing or related discipline
  • At least 2-4 years Brand Marketing or Marketing Communications experience, preferable in CPG or Home appliances
Required Skills
  • Experience in development and delivery of marketing campaign materials, such as:
    • Photography and video content
    • Digital materials such as banners or social media posts
    • Written materials, e.g. press releases or website copy
  • A keen eye for accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Very organized and able to multi-task
  • Positive and proactive with can-do attitude
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Creative thinker
  • Analytical, commercial and results-focused
  • Good written & spoken presentation skills
  • Experience in briefing and working with marketing agencies and/or creative suppliers such as graphic designers
  • Global marketing experience
